I am thinking about installing a radio/stereo in my 07 sabre was looking for ideas on head unit placement and speaker placement. Does basscat sell a kit to do this also any pics would be great thanks.

Here are a few pics of the stereo in my Cougar FTD that I had Sherm install. It sounds awesome and has a remote on the bow and a wireless remote as well! Clarion system!

Nwacatman, Hearing the story of how Sherm had to get completely in the drivers side front storage to pull wires through for the remote located on the bow makes me laugh just thinking about it! I can only imagine! I personally would let the dealer do it because of experience. I would not want to go and cut holes in my hull knowing I could weaken a spot or damage something. Its your choice, just make a wise one!

I have the same system installed from the factory in my 08 Cougar FTD, and the headrest speakers are outstanding. I do have one suggestion if you are going to do the install–get a set of connector cables for an IPOD/MP3 player and run them from the jacks on the back of the radio unit before you install. The radio/CD player on my pontoon has them on the front of the unit, but the Clarion unit does not, and once you screw it into the carpeted box, you cannot reach them from behind. A kit would be a great idea. Ive looked into having a local dealership install a system in my Puma but Ive been a bit unsure how to go about it. This gives me a pretty good idea. Now if I can just talk myself into giving up my boat for a few days in March to do it, probably not going to happen! Is there truly an issue with the holes for the speakers vs. weakness and are there other options for location that arent a problem, i.e. possibly in the side of the console? Any critical info would be a big help before the project. I really like the looks of that, and have been thinking of doing a similar install in a 04 Classic. Is that the radio box that Bass Cat Parts sells? Do you have any problems hitting your legs on it getting in and out of the seat? Cocat

Mike I had an Ipod adaptor installed at factory for my stereo. It just plugs in at the dash, wires already ran and looks good. Ill snap a pic if need be.
