I have a 12” Helix and a RAMmount on the bow of my Eyra. I don’t care for the RAMMount at all and in rough water it seems to always fall down. Looking at replacing the RAMMount with a BalzOut, any isssues in doing this? Are the holes typically the same size?
That’s what I’m thinking. The RAM Mount has scratched my boat, don’t like it at all. I get it as tight as I can and it still moves. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The balzout is no doubt a great mount. Though imho to ridgid. In all honesty by using the ram mount it absorbs some of the “shock load”. Which imho is good thing. If it dont “give” some all the “shockloads” are going into our very expensive graphs. I kno sometimes im bad to think ahead and weigh my options. For me it only takes seconds to fold and tuck the graph using my ram mount. Ram mount makes a “leverage” tool for tightening if one feels the need for extra tightning. Though there again theres another something to have to keep up with and also the possibility of breaking the big wing nut. So i dont recommend it
