What do yall insure your fishing equipment for???Rods, reels, lures…..I am currently insured for 5000.00 butthat would not replace my stuff…At what point would your homeowners ins. take effect if you had a total loss?Or would it???????Thanks//Robin
I think it would depend wouldnt it? If it was broken into or stolen or burned up at home, then I would think theyd cover it.. anything away from home, the boat ins. itself would take affect.. Correct? I have no clue really. I forget what I have added extra for equipment. I think its 5,000 as well.13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods
Mine has 5k, just a drop in the bucket, I have way more of a investment in tackle graphs and trolling motor and prop than that. How ever I do carry full replacement on the boat for now, Still trying to figure out what kinda coverage that is and for how long it will fully replace the boat tho. At some point full replacement cant fully replace the boat I would think. At some point depreciation would have to be a factor. I am currently waiting for a e-mail back on this question from my insurance agent. I dont wanna keep paying a premium price for full coverage and then need it and them say” ahhhh there aint enuff value left to cover the full replacement”.
I just took photos of all of my fishing equipment and Im in the process of writing down what each item cost. If its over the $5000 Im insured for Ill increase it. This was suggested by Bob at Worldwide Marine.
C130 that is a good idea. I have also been told that you need to make sure that your policy has items itemized in it: ie trolling motor, electronics, etc. I started taking photos of everything I have that I know are costly to replace as well and keeping copies of them, and the original policy in a fireproof safe. You might also want to look into an agreed cost replacement policy, versus the other kind where they look up nada costs and go from there. Some agencies do offer them.

Multiple boats were broken into and rods/reels stolen at a tournament my dad fished on Sam Rayburn. His home owners insurance ended up being the one to pay and of course it wasnt really enough to replace all of what was lost. I have BoatUS Angler policy and had asked about added boat equipment such as electronics/trolling motor/batteries. Accord to them, the electronics, batteries, and TM are considered part of the boat and covered under that part of the policy. Tackle, life jackets, rods/reels would be covered under equipment loss so 5K would probably cover most of us. Remember all your equipment would be considered used so isnt going to be worth the retail price we paid for it. Coverage may vary from company to company however.

I have just swapped to world Wide as well. Bob told me the same thing. If it was attached it was considered part of the boat. So I just increased the agreed value.2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
