Rear Nav light

My rear navigation light (tall white one) is acting goofy. I know something needs to be cleaned, but I do not know what. When I plug the light into its socket, and cut the lights on, it doesnt come on…but after a few minutes, it comes on and stays on just fine. What is making this light do this? What needs to be cleaned? Thanks BCB family!

You could first take off your lens and take out the bulb to inspect it for corrosion or other contaminant. Then re-install the bulb. Then you could get some contact cleaner and spray into the connectors and clean with cotton swab. Then spray the male connectors in the base and clean with cotton swab too. Then try and get a multimeter and check the base male pins for 12 vdc. while someone else operates the switch for you. These are basic steps to take that might fix your problem or tell you that you have other problems with voltage or continuity in the light circuit.Everyone should believe in something. I believe Ill just go fishing!

Mine was doing the same thing . — I bought a new base and cured the problem . — Inexpensive and readily available through parts dept. —
