I have a 07 Puma and took the console out over the summer. Looking to put it back in now. Do I need to use some kind of sealant around where the console contacts the boat? Looked like there was silicone there when I initially removed it.I would prefer to NOT use anything so when I take it back out next summer there is less elbow grease needed to make it look alright.Thanks!Jon

You can use some general purpose silicone and it will probably help eliminate some squeaking and scratching and will help support some but mot a lot. You should be OK if your plan is to remove in a few months if I were installing permanently then I would go with what bass cat I uses.

I ordered and installed the second console on my old CougarFTD. I found a sheet of rubber that was about an 1/8 in thick and glued it to the console. Put a strip on starboard side so it was below the gunwale and the piece that went towards the rod locker was wide enough to be below locker lid and folded under to keep from scratching the shelf it sat on. Worked great and no elbow grease when I wanted to take it out. Just another idea.
