I have a 2007 P2 and want to relocate a battery charger to the floor in the bilge area next to where the starting battery is located (passenger side). It appears I can put screws there because there is already a battery tray and a second charger there, but what is under there? The holes there are sealed with a black sealer that looks like tar and what length screws would you use? I have also thought about mounting a treated 2×6 to that floor with silicone adhesive or epoxy and then screwing the battery charger to that so i would not have to put any more holes in the boat. What do you guys think? Thanks Bob PS: the reason i am relocating it is because it was originally mounted on the transom behind the trolling motor battery and you had to stick your head clear in the bilge to see the lights. It failed and I never saw it so i was left stranded with a dead starting battery in a tournament. Pro Mariner did send me a new one but I wont put it back where it was.
