Reminder–Set battery type on new Minn Kota Chargers

Just picked up my new 2017 Puma FTD, and it has a new to me MinnKota battery Charger. These new chargers allow the user to set charging profiles for each bank, depending on battery type.Easy to do, just push a button at the bottom of the charger to select battery type.This was new to me, and according to the manual, not doing it could cause issues with improper charging.Just wanted to share, in case others might have missed this feature of the MinnKota units.

Thanks, my Eyra has the new charger. I assume it was set correctly by the dealer but guess I need to check. Is it the same for the AGM vs. the regular lead acid or does the AGM requite a different setting? C130,Cant speak to what dealer did, or did not do. There are 3 different settings on my charger–AGM, Lead-Acid (standard wet cell) and Gel.My cranker is a AGM, trollers are wet cell–So I have to set each bank. You need to trace the wires from the bottom of the charger to each battery, to be sure your settings are right.Not a hard thing to do.Mike Whitten
