any of yall ever remove an epoxied in hull mounted transducer? if so how is it done? (trying to avoid the ball peen hammer method)

I was in the same boat as you just 2 weeks ago. My in hull transducer went bad all of a sudden. I didnt have any room to wack it with a hammer even after removeing hoses from pumps. I was able to get my Dremel tool with the flex end and bought a cutting wheel. I was able to cut into the base of the transducer and the epoxy. I was then able to put a small chisel underneath and pry and pop it right out. Was alot less trouble than the hammer. I was too scared that I would hit everything of value instead of the transducer.

same boat….how ironic(lol) . dremel with a flex attatchment. sounds like a good idea, i think ill try that. if it dont work , i can always revert back to the hammer and chisel method. im kinda like you though. id really hate to break something back there especially since i just replaced both bilge pumps and three of my four aerator pumps……not exactly cheap equipment.
