I removed the passenger console on my 2003 Cougar. I think they are about the same. There are 6 bolts. 3 on the side you access thru the glove box and 3 on the front that goes into the rod box. After you remove the bolts you will have to work the silicone loose on the front of the console. Done. I used 3/16 pop rivets to fill the bolt holes.
