My 2006 Puma was involved in an accident on Friday afternoon and is currently at the dealer. Who can I speak to at Bass Cat about repair questions ? Tony Caruso

Tony, First they will need several good imagesof the area effected and anything that would give them the direction of the impact. Whose and what insurance applies, as well as agents and adjustors, claim number and etc. Where it is located and where you and the insurance company are going to have the work done we assume are your questions. As well as feasability of the repairs.

BCB, My boat is at Franzwa Marine in Millville, NJ. You should hear from Joe or Dave tomorrow. A motorcycle hit the rear of the boat. The transom has cracks inside. Dave thinks that the jack plate and steering system should be replaced and has a fiberglass guy coming to check out the hull on Monday or Tuesday. The trailer is very badly damaged as well. The impact was severe. The man driving the motorcycle is going to live but is in bad shape. He had to be flown to the hospital. I was pulling into my driveway after a day of fishing and can only assume that he was not paying attention when he hit me. I am working out the insurance issues. I have a couple of questions. Can the transom take an impact like that and be repaired ? How long would it take to get the trailer frame fixed or replaced by Bass Cat ? Thanks, Tony

That transom is tremendously strong. This week we tested one in a 60 Ton press using only a cut out strip of an inferior transom from materials we were testing. We would not mount this transom on a hull and it was still bent it a U shape, almost an upside down W when it failed. Theteansoms are just Incredible! Any cracks are likely in HHS splashwell radius itself and odds are that they are repairable. The trailer frame is a couple weeks, plus delivery to NJ, which costs more daily as we all know.

We also hope lt improves for that bike rider. That must have been one heck of an impact.

Thanks for the reply. Ill be talking to you tomorrow. What phone number should I call and whom shall I speek to? I also hope the bike rider recovers. I havent slept much in the past two days. The whole incident keeps playing back in my head. I can only imagine what the guy on the bike is going through. Think of him in your prayers. Im sure he needs all the help he can get. Tony
