Most of my stringers are bad, the floor is rotten (which I have removed) and I found live termites under the plywood in the floor in front of my console. That’s why I was trying to pull the cap. I’m left with a quandary about what to do. It has been suggested to me that I don’t need to worry about replacing the wood in the stringers because the fiberglass is strong without the wood. What is your view about doing that. I’m thinking more in line with cutting about half the fiberglass out of each stringer to expose the rotten wood, clean it out and replace wood and fiberglass then refloor & fiberglass floor. I would appreciate your suggestion as to what I should do in repair.
