Need to replace the front pedestal. Was told to remove the front lid and peal back the carpet to remove the top plate. What size drill is required to drill out the revits on the hindge holding the lid, looks like 1/8″. Was told to spray acetone on the carpet to loosen the glue and the carpet should roll back enough to remove the plate. Has anyone ever done this and are the revits special and need to be purchased from BCB. Thanks RoyceVRoyce 1994 PII, 2007 175 Optimax

Is the entire base damaged/loose or do you need to just replace the seat bushing? I just replaced the seat bushings on the front/back decks of my Eyra. Just curious. Good luck.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner

I have to replace the top plate with the bushing. Got the lid off, pealed the carpet back to get to the plate, took the two bolts out removed plate, put in new plate, wont go all the way down. Have to take it to shop and get it turned down 1/8 or so should fit perfect. Did fairly well just hope I can get carpet back in good shape.. The pedestal is a two part deal the pipe is glassed in and the top plate with the bushing drops in from the top under the carpet… Machined fit into the pipe. ThanksRoyce 1994 PII, 2007 175 Optimax

The rivets are special and you should use the ones we use. They are not pure aluminum and are a compression rivet, vapor proof.
