The seats in my 98 Jaguar are ripping and need to be replaced. Trying to decide weather it would be better to get the skins, or all new seats. And although I like the thought of staying with the stock bench seat, it looks like the new buckets would be comfy and last longer than stepping on the seats to get on the back deck. (My old knees wont allow for the full step over the seat.) Is the under seat storage still dry if you change to the buckets? Any of your thoughts are appreciated!

I replaced the seats in my 02 Jag with buckets and the box, I loved them. Guys have had small issues with the underseat storage staying dry, you can fix that just by setting a weigh in bag under the seat to seal it. I would do it again in a second. Mike

I replaced the seats of my 98 jag with a new set of the originals and I love them. Like yourself I didnt want to keep stepping on the center seat to get to the back deck plus my knees are shot also, so I am in process of putting the carpeted step box in the middle. I plan on leaving the cushioned back in place in the event I ever do carry a third person. Because they only make the step box in 2 widths I am going to end up with approx a 1″ gap on both sides of the seat where they meet the driver and passenger seats. If I am not happy with the look. Ill just go back to the original cushion. If you go with the buckets you will lose the dry storage under the seats without doing as suggested by mike. I have absolutely no complaint with the comfort of the new seats. I just wanted the to keep them original. Also keep in mind that when swithching to the buckets there are some holes that will have to be filled or covered in some way. I just read that somewhere on here. Maybe Mike can elaborate more since he went to the buckets.

About three years ago we (my wife and I) decided spend a little $$$ and replaced the carpet and seats on our 99 Jaguar. Had to get a new motor too but thats another story. The boat looks new again. Seats are MUCH BETTER than the bench. Also as side note to other topic, we NEVER waxed our boats, only Pledged em and seldom at that. Finish still looks “almost” new today.

I did the skins in my P-111 but my kids go with me a lot so the bench better fits my needs
