Being you had a 3.0L 2-stroke you will be disappointed in the 3.4L 4-stroke as it doesn’t make as much torque. It’s makes similar torque as the 2.5L 2-stroke. The “200hp” 4.6L being a ProXS is pushing the 10% rule as it’s a detuned 300hp with a smaller throttle body(restrictor plate), I don’t think the 200 3.4L is making 220hp based on the CARB reports. The only other outboard I’d recommend is the 200hp 4.2L SHO, though it’d be even more especially considering the need to change controls. The 200hp Suzuki is 2.9L 4cyl 4-stroke and that’s going to be similar in torque to my 3.0l 150hp Mercury 4-stroke, even though my Sabre FTD is about the same weight as your Classic if I could have more torque for when the boat is loaded down in the heat of summer I would. When solo in the winter it’s great, but that’s why I’m considering the repower to the 3.4L Pro XS 175. Thought I’d be content with 150, being I grew up in a Classic with 150 though it had the big at that time 2.7L 2-stroke Suzuki which was a detuned 225 and definitely pushing the 10% rule.
