I have an 09 Puma FTD and have some trailer questions. Firstly, I have gone through two reverse lights in less than a year, both from water intrusion. Is this common? Has anyone tried using LED strips for this purpose?Secondly, looking at some recent picture posts on the forum, I have noticed that other trailers have reflective BassCat decals on the rear. Mine does not. Do I need them to be road legal?Thanks!

I dont have a back up light on my Cougar, but I plan to get one or two. I had one on my 06CougarFTD and one on my Baycat, never had any water issues with them. The Baycat, I put in salt water. As far as legal is concerned with those stickers (mine has them on the trailer on both sides), I really dont know. I do know someone on here, I believe, posted that he had the LED tail lights and was stopped by a policeman who told him that since the lights didnt have reflectors, that he was illegal. But he also had the stickers on his rig. I dont remember how that came out though.

Yes you do need those Bass Cat small decals that reflect to be legal. Not sure why you dont and you also can visit with them on that back up light. They are not a sealed beam, though they have worked fairly well. BCB

Thanks, Ill call parts in the a.m. Got the kitty out for the first time this year last week, she stretched her legs a little bit and was happy to be out of the garage.LOVE MY CAT!!!!!!!

I used a heat resistant clear silicate based product and sealed around my lights that I installed on my 96 PII and they have been working flawless. I picked up 2 lights (round) that you would put on a tractor and then sealed them. Installed them under my existing hardware that holds the fenders on my trailer (so I wouldnt have to drill into the frame) then each light has its on 14 ga wire for the current draw. No problems. What I used was basically gasket maker and wiped off the excess! Looks good and all for about 30$.
