Riding with the Pros

Hey guys I got lucky enough to be a marshall for the classic.If you had the chance to ride with one pro who is your choice?I will be riding at least friday and sunday.If I have the chance I really want to get some time with John Crews but really any of them would be awesome.

I would love to be in the boat with kvd but from what I gather all the big names have camera crews with them and if they start catching them you get kicked out and have to ride in the camera boat instead.I have the meeting tom and get to find out more details and will keep you guys updated.

I was a marshal for an elite event last year and was with Aaron Martens one of the days.It was a great experience.If I had a choice mine would be Jeff Kriet,Edwin Evers,and of course KVD!

I had a buddy that got KVD in LR last year. He didnt get to ride with him very much because of all the media. He might of had an hour in the boat with him. The rest of the time he was in the camera boat folling him. Shaw is a good one to follow. He talks to everyone and tells what he is doing.

I fished with Gary Klein in a BASS ProAM back in the 90s on the Potomac. I would love to fish with him again. He talks and takes the time (while fishing) to answer your questions. I learned a lot from that day. Plus we caught the heck out fish.Probably the worst and most inconsiderate pro Ive fished with was Roland Martin.

Rick Clunn ,he has always been my favorite. In HS we had to write the usual “what I wanted to be when I grow up” and I said a Pro Bass angler. I laid out a plan on how I planned on doing this and used an article about Ricks career and how he got started as a reference. I thought that I had written a master plan and was sure of getting an A+! Instead I got a C- and a lecture about getting my head out of my rear because ” nobody makes a living bass fishing”! Granted that was over twenty years ago but every day I go to work I just thank her for the great advice! Haha

Well I attended the meeting today and basically it will be luck of the draw for who you get to ride with for the day.So if you get with a big name more then likely you will ride with a camera boat and wont actually get to ride with them.So hopefully it works out and turns out to be a good learning experience.
