Took the PIII to the water today despite the high winds. The Potomac was very rough, like small craft warning rough, but we got the motor running and confirmed some things we needed to do before going to the OI. On the way back into the Occoquan River to the ramp we slowly passed another bassboat. When I turned to confirm that we were clear of the boat, I watched it sink, stern first in about a minute! My partner and I fished three guys out of the 39 degree water. They all had on inflate-when-wet life jackets and if not for the jackets lives would have been lost for certain. As it was, the last guy out of the water was hypothermic and needed some attention from the rescue squad. Thanks Bass Cat for building the boats that you do.Now if I only I knew how to run my boat better in rough water. Time for some Internet searching.Last edited by grybrd on March 15th, 2015, 10:06 pm, edited 1 time in total.
