Does anyone have any experience with this type of light for the trolling motor mount? I have a 2017 Eyra and just wondering how effective this light is and if there are any issues with loading the boat on the trailer or any other issue with it being in the way. Thanks. Tony D

Ok, not sure what TM you have but heres what I went with……. I mounted a 4″ cube light (40 watt spot pattern from Black Oak LED) on the port side of my tm bracket. Ive got a motor guide x5I and drilled the hole in the “O” in motor guide sticker. Then I used a 30 amp relay that is “switched” through the red bass on my accessory panel and power is supplied from my cig lighter( spliced in ) So in short, press red bass switch on accessory panel and it energizes relay that puts power to the spot light on front of tm bracket and lights the world up for navigation at night. No interference between light and tm. Not sure how to post pics but have no doubt that you can run at night with this setup and have good vision.

17Sabre – I actually discussed your idea with a buddy of mine. Definitely an option. I think what I am leaning towards is adding a 2nd bow light receptacle by the trolling motor foot pedal. This will allow me to utilize a plug in style version of the RI light and will give me a backup for the bow light in case of failure on tournament morning. I had one on my last Cougar and I never had to use it but it was a cool feature.

I hear the rigid light works well until it gets hit a few times and then breaks

After discussing with someone who has one of these lights it seems it would be a pain in the rear to use in my area. The problem is most of our lakes have boat lanes that you have to stay in and they have many curves so you are constantly trying to find the next marker in front of you which is typically off to the side of where you are running. From the pics I have seen it seems like it would be pretty bright and helpful tho on a lake that is more wide open. Oh well, another brilliant idea by me that wasnt very well thought out.
