LAD, I usually polish my rims with Mothers every few months then in between when Im cleaning the boat Ill put a quick coat of spray wax on them. In either case, The only thing that really shines them up is a good old fashion polishing with either mothers or Meguiers. I do get lazy now and then and let them get pretty bad before a polishing. I will never again own polished aluminum rims. Chrome is much easier to care for and doesnt dull. I know Chrome isnt as durable as polished aluminum but I am willing to forgoe the longevity for SHINE!By the way, I am one bad to the bone, Grass cutting, Weed eatin, Leaf blowin, Branch cuttin, House washin, Boat drivin, Fish Catchin, Food Eatin, LSU Football watchin, Beer drinkin, COON A**. So, whatever you need done around the Bar Ditch We can handle it I guarantee it.Chris CoupelPaulina, La. Chris CoupelPaulina, La.
Thanks Chris—All will be done before you guys get there–just giving Sambo a hard time–I know Sam is coming early-we may make a little trip over to the Big Pond-Toledo. That time of year can be real good there, and its only a hour away. Getting pumped for the big show. See ya soon.. Tell all your buddies to show their faces and dont forget the spaghetti
Hey:I am an almost official Coon A**. In fact, I think Chris (Shap) is preparing for the initiation ritual as we speak!!! I want to be involved with you guys too. I am expecting to be an official resident of New Orleans on October 7, 2010. Corky
Which means you will be in a Louisiana voting district and then those Cajun Politics will be yours to deal with Corky. Not quite Cook County, Chicago style still remaining from Daleys days and before, though a whole new web before Edwin Edwards. Now you can be part of this too Corky! LOL! BCB Admin.
Uh-oh!!!!!
Corky. you know dates. Bring yourself on down. Hope you can make it.
Just spent tooooo much time taking the wheels off and polishing them. I used Meguires Mag and Aluminum Polish to clean. Question is—Does anyone use wax or other protection on rims after this process. (Be quiet PA and Doug—she does get out of the barn every now and then)
They should be fine and the same in 2015.
I went and took the tire off and put the new rim on just to see what it would look like. The new rim sticks out past the fender well almost 1 1/2″so with a tire on there would be another 1″ added to it sticking out….Is this right or am I measuring/ picturing it wrong?
The tire overhangs the fender some, though we really feel the axle and rims are similar. We made some changes to widths in the past before 2012 we felt like. It may have been just after production of yours if the boat was built in 2011.
Ok…Thanks for answering my questions.
