The chip and seal on these Texas and Oklahoma roads are driving me crazy. What have you found that works to protect the boat and trailer from the rocks and tar? I saw on a new owner post recently where his boat had a tarp type rock guard on the front part of his boat tailer. I liked that and havnt been able to find any info on it.

I have the rocktamers. Ordered from auto anything online for about 200 delivered. They work great and not a rock chip one in almost 2 years. I run fairly large all terrain tires and find all kinds of trash, rocks, etc stuck in the grooves of the flaps that would have hit the boat and trailer. Best 200 Ive spent!

Sherm has delivered two boats to me, seems like its going to rain or snow if I buy a new boat LOL. The guard he uses impresses!!!http://www.towtector.comSeems like he sold them as well, not sure if he still does?

I agree with the mud flaps. Up here its stone and gravel for 8 months then salt and sand. I found it easier to use two sets of flaps. One at the normal hight then the other running down from there about 6 to 8″ from the road surface. Just high enough so it wont scrap every bump when Im loaded up. Ive been using a Towtector for the last two years and it really helps with the rock chips. I love it and they are American made in South Dakota. http://www.towtector.com/
