Rod Buckle Rod Straps

Has anyone installed the Rod buckle rod straps using the concealed kit? If so did you run into any troubles? Where in the Gunwale did you install them?

Mist mount them downwards due to deck room under the gunnels. Some models offer room under the gunnels and some do not. BCB
