The tubes are the largest available, so what we have done is slightly bend the last guide. Several of us have done this for years and have not damaged a guide yet. You simply straighten it out with one flex when you get ready to use it again on the next trip. BCB

Dont want to contradict BCB here, but If you go to http://www.golfcow.com, you can buy oversize golf tubes. You will have to remake the holder, which I did easily with a 1/2″ thick cutting board from the dollar store. The whole thing cost me about $20 and an hour of time. They have 3 different sizes and were a smidge longer, so it helped me with those long rods that like to stick out past the tube when you put them in sometimes. Good luck.

Guys, Im not sure what the problem is–I store Falcon, BPS, and GLoomis spinning rods in my Puma tubes with no problems at all. If yours dont fit, another option is to use “Stors-It” rod sleeves. I started using these last year, and they are great. They have models for spinning rods ups to 7 long. I use them for casting rods as well, and put them in the bottom of the lockers. I use rod socks from BPS. They work well too. They are a pain to put on and take off though — not hard, just a time comsuming.

Thanks panteraIV! The rod tubes in my 01 P-III are fraying & cracking at the rolled lip/edge and need to be replaced. Will give your idea a shot, as slipping rods, esp spinners, in and out of those tubes has always been a dicey proposition for me.

Is there a way to modify the rod locker to hold spinning rods? The plastic tubes are too small.

I put 7.5 rods with no problem.

It should hold 8 rods in some quantity. Not sure now how many.

What about spinning rod lengths? I have some 7 spinning rods, just curious if they will fit a P4.
