I noticed in the walk thru videos that the tie downs on the puma and cougar are on the storage lids vs just in front like on my eyra. Any reason not to move them to the lids so you can keep rods secured when accessing? Also. Do the bungee straps works as good as the velcro straps.? They seem easier to us. Thanks

My boat came with the bungees and I ordered/ installed the Velcro straps for extra security. My Velcro straps are on the rod locker lids

i also have both use the straps for long runs and rough water, short trip just flip the bungees and goTreat everyday like it might be the last

Im pretty sure that BCB spent plenty of time in deciding where to put the rod straps on each model boat. Just what they do. My guess is the straps are placed on the Eyra due to the length of the rod box lid or where the rod box lid ends on the front deck. I would guess that placing the straps on the lid would allow rods slide backwards toward the seats and then your rods (tips) could end up on or close to the passenger seat or drivers console.

The tips will lay on the deck if the rods are placed all the way forward but e they are in the way fishing. If tie down on lid the tips rest on consoles / gunnel but more romm to fish without moving rods back and forth plus can access the boxes easier. I think i prefer the second scenario.
