My front right spindle is damaged beyond repair and I have a T Id like to fish before my new axle will arrive. The front axle (right side only) is pinned up using the pop axle feature (sweet feature by the way). My questions are: 1. Is it safe to trailer on three of the four wheels on a tandem axle trailer? 2. Is it better to pull the opposite tire and run on only the aft two tires? 3. Is there a way to pin the pop axle in posn when being used or is it just kept in place via gravity & pressure? 4. Should I forget the whole idea and wait for the new axle (will have to trailer 1.5 hrs to get it to dealership)? It is a 2000 Jag trailer. Thanks. Good fishing – Richard
Estimated towing distances: 1. About 16 miles to put gas in the boat a few days prior (didnt fill up day of bearing failure). 2. About 30 miles each way day of T. 3. About 90 miles to tow it to Pops when the axle comes in.
