Get a 5 gallon can and remove a hose on the engine. Now on to the fuel can and somehow tie it to the boat deck. Insert the open end of a new hose into the fuel can and connected directly to the engine. Now if it still surges, you have an engine issue.
my 2010 puma with 225 pro xs 25 fury 4500 rpm 51mph , 5200 rpm 61mph. sounds like prop slip , mounting is to high. lower the engine and mph will go up as the boat lifts.
ON THE JACKPLATE THE GAUGE DOES NOT HAVE NUMBERS,ONLY LINES.I RUN IT AT THE FIRST LINE FROM THE BOTTOM.WATER PRESSURE IS 17 TO 18.CANT REMEMBER THE TRIM NUMBER,NORMALLY THE FIRST LINE ALSO..IF THIS IS NOT RIGHT PLEASE TELL ME…..30 HOURS AND COUNTING..THANKS
If that is w.o.t. you have issues,,,, if you are just cruising, it sounds o.k..You should be slinging the 26p Fury around 5800-6000rpms, w.o.t.. depending on trim and engine height.
