Sabre chine walk!!!

Hi to all, im new to this forum and basscat boats. I hav a 07 sabre with a mercury 150efi, and im having a big problem with chine walk at aboat 58mph and up. This is my 3rd bass boat, but i never had a problem with chine walk like i do with my sabre. Any suggestions?

What other brands of boats and sizes did you own. For example, this Sabre is capable of mid 60s and if you had slower rigs you probably never experienced it, also on some hulls it is all different.

My first boat was a94 skeeter zx150 with a mariner 150, and the second boat was a 2000 triton tr-20 with a 200 mercury efi. The triton would think about walking, but never got bad. Both boats would run mid 60s. The sabre i have know is hands down the best looking boat, and has been fun to drive. I love the boat and plan on sticking with a cat in the future, but for know i cant run the boat wot without it getting pretty violent. I dont think im over trimming i have a low and long roust, the motor is 4.5 inch below pad, i have raised up to 3.5 below pad in small incraments but nothing changed. It does do better with two people.

Do you have steering torque? What propeller? RPMs?

I have hydraulic stering, and havent noticed any stering torque. Im running a 23 tempest at 5500-5600rpm when it gets bad.

07, I also have an 07 Sabre it will start to walk around 60ish if overtrimmed or with no small wheel corrections. You do have to drive the boat, w/small left hand corrections and not too much trim. The hull packs air for lift and typically I use 1/2 to maybe 2/3 trim according to the guage. You should get mid 60s, make sure your loaded light upfront and carry heavier items on the port side when your by yourself. Good luck, John

I can trimm it down and get rid of it, but when i start working it back up it gets bad again.

Hang it there it requires time. What you have is a high performance boat that is capable of pushing the WOT envelop.

take your time learning to drive this boat and once mastered you will flat have fun. if you do a search at the top of the pages you will find several real good threads talking about chine walking and how to keep it at bay.generally speaking if you keep very gentle pressure to the left as your bow is wanting to go right then let off then back on, real subtle and smooth is the key, before long you will be rolling and the movements will be totally subconsious. just get some seat time and enjoy and most importantly be carefullTreat everyday like it might be the last

Then seat time should solve that and we do think you might be over trimming if the boat gains speed when the trim is lowered. Also the torque question, is there any torque? If there is no pull to the right then engine height may be a factor and you may raise it in 1/4″ increments.
