Sabre live well question

I know this has been discussed at length, but here we go again. I dont have a recirc choice on my livewell switch, just auto and empty. I understand that auto will let water flow into the livewell, but is this what I leave it on while keeping fish on the water? Also, if I wanna trailer home with a full livewell to transplant fish into my home pond, what setting does it need to be on? Thanks

Year of boat? Does it have the A10 touch pad? If so, your livewell controls are there. The switch just fills or empties the livewell if you mean the T switch on the side……..96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner

2012, I do have a pump in/pump out buttons on console. I left the switch on the side on auto thinking when I got home, I would have a full livewell. Of course, that did not happen. The only other choice would be to put on empty, but that doesnt sound right either..Last edited by mach316 on March 10th, 2013, 3:01 pm, edited 2 times in total.

I put a push pull valve on my pump out that lets it either recirculate or pump out. Works great. I did not have a recirculate option.Last edited by jcdogfish on March 10th, 2013, 3:01 pm, edited 2 times in total.

I use the old reliable drain plug for my Sabre livewell. A wine cork works great and is cheap; I never have to worry about the water draining from my livewell while running or trailering.

It is repairable and since the boat is nearly new in a 2012 then odds are the cable slipped in the bracket grasp mounting clamp. We really like a plug concept however customers were resoundingly in favor of the valve.

Im with you 100% on this one BCB. After several boats, and manufacturers Ive never had a remote drain work well. Always something stuck in it or cable issues. I use a plug and the pump out when I want to empty it. 7 years and NO issues and never had fish high and dry after a long run because a valve failed to close or the operator failed to close it. If I get another boat with remote drains I will still plug the livewell and pump it out. Its just too simple and reliable.
