Im looking to get a 898c SI and Ram Mount. Any one got suggestions on location and size of mount. Not much room on top of cap. Just in front of shift lever is a flush mount cleat. 520C in dash now dont want to take out. Also info on transducer mount on jack plate would be helpful, 6″ Slidemaster. 2007 Sabre FTD Thanks, Mackey

Mackey, on a Sabre FTD we would remove our in dash units and go with the wedge mounted RAM on the small pocket in your console. Put a plate over your present depth finder and mount the stainless clam shell in that location. BCB Admin.

I would like to keep my in dash if possible. If I can find room is the area smbass attached above strong enough if I can get a plate behind the mounting bracket ? I could remove the the fold down cleat in front of shift lever, but I think that would put the unit to close to driver.Last edited by Logan Martin Cat on March 19th, 2010, 2:21 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Use a rail mounted RAM. No holes to drill.

I hope to get a big SI unit before Christmas 2010. I also plan on leaving the indash 522. Thanks for the pic Todd, hope to see you both at SEBCOG and/or the OI.

smbass, thanks for pic. Did you use screws or bolts on the ram mount, thats what I think I will do after I looked at some more I should have room. Hope for BCB blessing on mounting in this location. Bill, no winner on lottery. But seriously I have considered not doing this because of the the fishing time its going to cost me. I know couple guys that have these units and all they do is ride and look at least 50% of their time on water.See yall at SEBCOG. Thanks for all the help. Mackey

I just got two 998s. I got the ram mounts but had to get a $50 with shipping 2″ square plate ball mount. Im going to place it just to the right side under the trim and speedo. I too want to leave the one that is in dash. It will cover the speedo but who cares the gps covers that.
