Has anyone found a way to make the bilge lid removable on a Sabre FTD? I now have 2 bad knees, cannot kneel on either one and it is very awkward trying to remove the batteries for winter storage. I have considered turning the lid around, but before I do that, has anyone done that and what issues did you run into? I was thinking I could turn the lid around and use the hinges from the larger boats to make the lid removable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Wayne

Would be interested in this topic for my Classic too. Getting older and sore shoulders. Doing anything in the bilge gets to be a chore because can only access from one side or the other. Understand why hinged in front so no chance wind could catch it but it limits access. Converting to a removable lid would be a nice improvement.

I had the removeable lid on the older cat . It was nice! Wish I had it know. Appears it would have been easy to put the bullet style hinges on the sides and let the lid open side to side instead of rear to front. Did not think of that. My only concern would be keeping the non- hinged side down tight.
