Sabre w/ Evinrude 150 HO G2

I haven’t seen anyone post with that combo.  I read an article online about a guy in Australia running it with dual power poles, but I can’t recall performance numbers.  Personally, I think the Sabre looks sharp with a G2, and I would guess mid 60’s solo.  I’m sure BCB has run one empty.  Maybe they can give you an idea.

I’m really impressed with mine.  My last rig was a Puma, and aside from running big rollers, I enjoy driving and fishing from my 18 footer over the big boat.  It’s incredible fishing shallow and running back water areas, and I still haven’t gotten wet running big water.  I’ve got the 175 2 stroke, and I get 68-69 solo with any prop I’ve tried.  I wouldn’t trade it for any other 18 footer on the market.

My gut tells me you’d struggle to get upper 60’s with the 150.  Price the Yamaha SHO & Merc 175 4 stroke.  There is a guy on here with the 175 SHO that matches my performance numbers, and there is another fella with a new 175 Merc 4 stroke that sounds similar.  You won’t regret the 175.  I fish Rayburn, Toledo, and Conroe…no issues at all unless the wind is blowing 20+.  The ride is bone dry.  Only way to get wet is driver error.

My hull runs big water way softer with a Tempest or Bravo 1  4 blade.  Fury is crazy fast, but it’ll bounce me around when the wind is blowing on those lakes.  Top end is almost identical with my 25 Tempest & 26 Bravo 1xs…69.0 solo & 68.0 with a 220 lb partner.  24 Tempest runs great too.
