Who has the Sabre with the Yamaha 150 4 stroke? I was wondering how the rig performs, especially with a heavy load.

i have the 09 sabre with the 09 f150 yamaha. i am a big guy and i carry alot of gear. it is very strong. i am still tinkering with the setup but i can run in the low 60s with two guys and a full load, the kicker is the fuel effeciency.

Those are great numbers especially for two guys and full load. Impressive!!! It must e nice not hassling adding oil.

The Yamaha F150 actually produces 165HP. Very strong motor.

Thanks! I may repower my 02 Sabre this winter, and I am really interested in the F 150. I think they will be hard to beat in reliability. I am afraid of a sluggish hole shot, but from what you are saying, that may not be a problem. As I have said before, I would be willing to give up a little top end, but I really want a decent hole shot.

I agree that is really impressive. Right on target with the 2 strokes. Give us a little more detailed analasis Benpyron!! Im liking what Im hearing. Ive been a fan of the 4 strokes for some time now, just not on bassboat applications. But, If a 4 stroke can actually provide the performance of the 2 stroke then I dont see any disadvantage.
