This is an original 1974 DLX Tournament model, 16. We knew the original owner (Gene Miller, Razorback Tackle) and the 2nd owner (Charles Crider) and swapped the boat for Ricks son to cut his teeth on. This is third ownership and will make someone a nice starter. Rick is not interested in upgrading the unit at BCB, though the 4th owner could carpet it and have a do-it yourself project. The boat has been owned in Mountain Home since birth. It has had no engine work done, and is an original 74 model on boat, trailer and engine. It was shown in many BCB advertisements, and the brochure. It is not a clean one, though has been dependable. The 85 Mercury is untouched and the MG 12 volt troller was upgraded at some time. The lights and trailer have been gone through, and it has been run within the last 30 days. It runs well and has aluminum propeller. No guarantee on the the unit, parts or engine. Though they have run well for Rick and Ryder. Rick used it for a brush boat and has loaded it down several times. 1974 Bass Cat DLX Tournament 1974 Bass Trail Trialer w/Spare 1974 Mercury 85, NO trim Motorguide 12 volt Troller Vexilar Gimbal FL 12 flasher Aluminum propeller 2 batteries Upgrades are a new aluminum 19.8 gallon fuel tank, the new MotorGuide bracket, batteries and a Vexilar FL Flasher was put on it new. Nice unit too! It is available for $1,385.00, non negotiable. The only feasible BCB upgrade would be a recessed pedestal in the front deck, which would add $100 for that work, and Rick had planned on doing that to it. Which would make $1,485.00 total and probably should be done. It is a good boat for a learner or user. Actually Rick hates to see it go, though he just doesnt need it since Ryder went to college. The hours are not that many and especially low hours for an older boat. BCB
Hi Rick, Thank You very much, You dont know how happy I am about that boat. My kids think Im crazy! My wife and myself think its Great. Now dont get us wrong, we absolutely love our 2002 Jaguar. But we cant wait to fish the OI tournament in that little boat. I guess it kinda takes us back to the “good ole days”. I guess now we need an old V.W. Camper Bus to pull it with, and we would be set for ever. We will be coming to Mountain Home on Sunday March 23rd, I would like to come to the shop and pick it up on Monday the 24th if that is a good time for you. I know you are very busy, and we dont want to be taking up any more time than we have to. Were you going to have someone do that Recessed pedestal that is mentioned on the listing. I agree that would be better. If you wont have the time, Ill just bring some of my tools and do it. Is there carpet in it or is that floor slick. If no carpet, Ill bring carpet, and do the floor before the Tournament. So it wont be too slick to stand on. I should be able to do the carpet in about 3-4 hrs. Ive been doing the carpet in cars for 15+ yrs. It shouldnt be too hard. You said Ryder is on the Track team at UALR, what events does he participate in, if he is running in this weather. Thats dedication. He must really love track. We hope he does well this year. If there is anything we need to do just let me know, I cant believe Im going to have to start mixing gas and oil, that is so cool. Thanks again, Jim and Annie Lewelling
Jim, I will get the front pedestal installed and it would be best to just throw some carpet on the floor temporary. The carpet has been weathered out. It should be ready to go and dont forgrtvto bring a charger. Ryder is redshirted and trains at about 110 miles a week now. We have enjoyed the boat and now you can.
Hi Rick, I was just thinking about this boat and it dawned on me that Ill need to register it to fish in the tournament. Will I need to tag it first, to be legal. Is it out of date on the license. Please let me know what I will need to do, to fish the tournament with it. If I need to call, just let me know. Thanks, Jim and AnnieLast edited by customcityjim on March 4th, 2008, 2:47 am, edited 2 times in total.
