A friend is having trouble loading waypoints from a Lowrance 28c to a 25c. Units are not linked. Weve updated all software and tried a sd card smaller than 1 GB. It still will not load. We know the waypoints are loaded on the cards tried. Have done this many times on other units including the 28c he owns now. Anyone have an idea? Glynn

i had a lowrance that was bad when i tried to load way points it would shut down completely so maybe a bad graph

NELA, Make sure that you are in the proper menu on the unit. Cant recall the proper command, though there was one that was similar and was not an import feature.

You are trying to “download” from a different generation of graphs. The operating software on the 27/28 units is different, I think, than the 25. It could very well be that the waypoint files are in a different file format between models, and could be the cause of your problem. Kind of like computer software. Newer versions will read older version files, but not vice-versa. Mike Whitten

If it were mine, I would tie it to a piece of brush and over board it would go. Even better, watch my buddy punt it with no benefit. Glynn

Just wanted to update my friends findings and the fix. He found that there was only 11+ volts on the LCX 25 front unit and 12+ on the console 28c. Was not able to establish 12 on that front unit trying all. He ran separate direct wiring from battery to the unit 12 + and it works perfectly. Will now accept SD way points. Glynn
