I was reading on another post where bcb advised a poster with an older boat to reseal jack plate bolts and it got me looking at my 91 p2 .I have a manual 6 in plate and was wondering how one could seal those JP bolts where it goes thru the transom? With the thickness of the jp bracket you cant really see where the bolts enter the transom much less get sealent in there. any ideas? mark
I would de-rig, with engine suspended, and repair any issues, clean, and reseal all bolts, etc,,,,,, I made the mistake of not doing so on my old boat and developed water intrusion thru the transom, etc,,,
