Folks, On my 2006 PIV, my front butt-seat pedestal was “stuck” in the floor hole and I had my muscleman neighbor try to remove it……well, he grabbed the piston instead of the post and ended up yanking the piston out leaving the pole! Now the lever on the seat does not work with the piston, I am assuming it is history, but is there possibly a fix to this problem? Anyway, if I replace the unit, I still gotta figure out how to get the old post out, any suggestions?!?!?!? Tks, BAM

I would suggest grabbing ahold of the pedestal with a big pair of channel lock pliers and twisting back an forth. You also might want to put some type of penetrating oil in the base of the pedestal. The channel locks will probably scratch the pedestal, but you probably need a new one anyway.

Pipe wrench with lubrication, twist it one direction threading it out in circular motions.

BAM, for future knowledge be sure to lightly lubricate the pole and DO NOT leave it in place for extended periods of time.

BAM, if the female receptacle is plastic, dont us oil base lubricant it will only expand the plastic and increase your problem. Mackey
