Topic: Seat post extensions broken loose at the hull

Both the forward and aft seat post extensions that run from the deck to the hull are broken loose at the hull.98 PIII.I am wondering what the best method might be to repair them. I am considering building “dams” around them with modeling clay and pouring epoxy into the dams, flooding the area where the post connection was.Any ideas?Thanks.

Id call Garry Wright at Wright way boat repair in Mtn Home/Lakeview and ask him- my guess is that Garry or Bobby from BCB have seen such and fixed such if its truly broken at the hull/floor of the boat. C.O.D. Jr. III

Just have someone square it to the deck and reglass it in place.

I did exactly what BCB says , on an 88 p2, it was fairly easy. Just clean the area good , try and grind a little to make base flat, the 88 had some plywood under it, so I replaced and layed tight weave glass over it, make sure you saturate it good with the resin

Thanks for the responses. Ill get to it as soon as I can get some warm weather. Its too cold right now for the resin to kick.

I had the back post come loose on my 98 Jag. I cleaned the area around it. Had some Thru hull/Transducer epoxy left. Damned and poured it around it. Been holding strong for almost 3 yrs.
