I have a 2002 P3 and the rear seat post is stuck. Probably I have left it in place too long and rust has settled in. I have sprayed the area between the post and lower post with liquid wrench, but still cannot free it by hand. Thinking next I will use pipe wrenches (one below and one above) to break it loose. However, I am concerned about the area where the bottom post is (presumably) cemented to the hull. Would there be any danger of creating a crack to the hull itself? If there is any chance of that happening, I can live with the post staying in place.thanks

You could separate the glass and seat post, though no way you can cause damage to the hull on this situation. We would use a belt wrench if one will hold, and slowly twist the extension pipe up while applying vertical pressure.

My 2011 has a bolt through the post/pin at the bottom, so you might check that first. If you do, my prayers are with you, as its pretty tight to get to. I had one to stick like that, I used bolt buster then tapped several times with rubber hammer let sit for about 15 min. Then put a thick towel around the post then used the pipe wrench and turned it back and forth while tapping with hammer it worked loose pretty easy when I got it out l used a grinder with steel brush on it to remove all the rust . Hope this will help with yours.

A friend had one stick in his and didnt know it until he was on the water. He used his golden ruler and popped it out. I was with him.Purchased new 5/4/15Bass Cat Sabre Vision EliteMercury Pro XS 150MotorGuide 75lb Tour EditionHumminbird – Stock (will be changing soon I hope)

Definitely take your time getting it out using methods above… Fiberglass resin will get you high as kite with a killer headache to boot… based on previous experience
