Seat threads

I have a seat and the threads are starting to separate slightly. Any suggestions to keep it from getting worse??

I have the same problem on an 08 Puma. The seat threads are seperating. Anybody with suggestions. Cant keep all co-anglers from plopping down or stepping in the seats. Tschooler, give Deans Canvas a call. I had the same problem with my Puma they sent me a new set of bottoms for around $100. They warranty the seats for 5 years on a prorated scale. I think Bass Cat warranties them for two years.

Dont use cleaner on the seats. Just soap and water. Cleaner will dry them out and cause the stitching to separate.

I got an upholstry needle and some matching nylon thread and made some very small stitches, then put a very small dab of clear sealant on the stitching. Not the best solution, but worked fine for the small area that would have become a problem in the future. Any a very cheap repair. Total cost

Seats have some warranty and we are glad assist if needed. Deans really wont extend past the two (2) year BCB warranty period though.

Deans seat are good framed and comfortable, but not the quality of the BCB factory made products of old, and the stitching is the weak point. They will eventually spread and leak thru the bottom. i dont have a cure other than do not step in the seats, but one of my partners has to, and thats just part of the process. Not knocking Deans,,,,just fact. They are however miles ahead of competitions in comfort and ride. imhoI just wonder if seatskins can make a waterproof slip cover like for trucks ?

There is no doubt the older fundamental BCB seating was definitely durable.

I agree with D. This is the only weak point of a Bass Cat boat. The 08 I had, I think the seats were exchanged three times. The 2010 I now own, seats are holding up so far, cross my fingers. There has to be a remedy for the stitching.Glynn

Called Deans on a suggestion from a friend and they told me they told me they have a 5 year prorated warranty, maybe I misunderstood again but they sent mine for less than half the cost of new.
