If the seat is broken in the hinge or plastic then it will be a warranty. If the depression tab is broken and not holding then that’s usually from not pressing the tab and lifting the back. Attwood will not warranty those for us and thus usually neither will we. Those generally are just knowledge on operation as to the reason for breakage.
The seat was in the down/locked position when it broke, the boat was being trailered at approximately 60 mph so it had nothing to do with knowledge of operation.
My wife leaned on the back of mine while it was open and broke the locking mechanism in the hinge. I figured that wouldn’t be covered under warranty so instead of buying another I drilled a small hole through the hinge and use a little pin to lock it in the down position now.
