seats ripping

Any idea how to stop this from getting worse

This is on the passenger seat which doesnt get used as much so not sure why its happening, but would like to stop it from getting bigger

Are co-anglers stepping in the seat? BCB Memo:The newer vinyls, which are not textured or pattern vinyl, should have absolutely no issues being stepped on. This seat appears to be hard vinyl in that area and some vinyl cleaners or preservatives prematurely age vinyl. We have multiple times mentioned we only use Pledge and Scrubbing Bubbles as a cleaner. We also offer ProTec in the store. We have used hair spray to clean some marks on vinyl in house, though only limited uses. Vinyl companies have made other suggestions, though stay firm.BCB

I used the vinyl repair tape below to repair a rip at the seem…and it has held up and worked well…couple of tips if you use it…round the corners on the patch and make the patch slightly larger than the tear…not sure what caused mine either but mine are 10 years old and other than that one seem are still holding up well..

I bought a couple of the Pro- Tec Kits from the Basscat stores to do my up keep. I use the Pro-tec vinyl sealant on the seats. Drivers seat looks brand new as does the front and back fishing seats. The passenger seat has 2 spots like the picture on opposite corners.

We don’t recall though believe that is just prior to the new Syntec vinyl. Most likely the year prior to Syntec, though if it is Syntec this is unusual. The factory will be able to answer that and work with your dealership. We don’t know the warranty term for Syntec ourselves however since you have this situation we would dig into it. We certainly are sensitive to premature vinyl or leather wear on our own vehicles.
