Please finalize attending or not in the next 2 days (by Wed 10/28/2011).Due to some issues with sponsors, as it stands right now, we will not be having the group BBQ dinner cookout. First the lady that did it last year had prior obligations, and some other cash sponsors have been unable to do that cash. So I made the decision to just put what money we did get and entry fees to paying out places instead of the group dinner. Hope everyone understands…sorry. Also, and this is TENTATIVE…I may allow this event to be a trailer event to allow more fishing time and to avoid alot of the traffic in Spring Creek from that other big tournament going on that Saturday. I will finalize this idea and pass that final decision on to you before Friday night. Also please verify your rooms at Val Monte or whatever hotel you are staying at before arrival. Last I checked there was still a few of our rooms that we blocked off at VM still available. Please bring CASH to registration Friday night so that I have the funds available for payouts without having to run to the bank to cash checks.
The date to finalize your attendance is 9/28 not 10/28. The tourney days are Oct 1st and 2nd.
LOL I stand corrected…been a long weekend.
Not sure what a “trailer” event means but if it means launching somewhere other than Val Monte Sat morning or an honor system of everyone going out at safe light from different ramps – Im all for it. Kelly – I know youve been extremely busy and I just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work youve put into making this happen.
Thats exactly what a trailer tournament is. Everyone would be on an honor system not to fish until safe light and responsible for their own safety. They meet back up at weigh in any way they want but must be back at a pre determined place on time with fish in good condition. Ive fished 200 boats out of Val Monte and the first bridge area is a bottleneck. I have no problem making this a trailer tournament though hope the announcement is made before Friday night as it will change where some pre-fish and fish the tournament. Either way Kelly and crew have put a bunch of work into this and itll be good times
Kelly,Thanks for putting this event together. I am behind you all the way if you want this to be a trailer event. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.Carky
Well I guess I will make it official…it will be a trailer event! Just as John described it. You can go by boat/water or by truck and trailer to where you want to start. Honor system, be back at ValMonte for weigh in at the appropriate time ( 4 pm day one on back side of hotel by the marina, 2 pm day 2 on the front lawn by the piers), fish in bag, all penalties for dead fish and late check in apply. All other rules apply. I trust you all to be gentleman and sportsmen of the highest caliber, and to be safe! I want this to be a great event, and avoiding the “bottle neck” at the bridge leaving Spring Creek with the Snag Proof crowd is a concern we can work around by doing this. Any of you wanting to fish far up river will be way ahead of the other tournament. Any questions we can address here or Friday night.
BTW…John please take note of where and when check ins are…dont want you missing another one…LMAO
Thanks for announcing now – personally I think this is a great way to avoid all the Snag Proof traffic. Looking forward to seeing everyone Friday evening.
Thanks, for getting the word out!!! You know Ill be up the ribber somewhere chunking a ribbet LOL. I will add for the folks coming down that may have never done a trailer event. PLEASE allow time for loading your boat, I dont care what ramp you are using this time of year itll have traffic on a fall weekend, making the drive through town and what ever you do leave your live wells on full of water and on recirculate while you trailer back to the weigh in. The weather is supposed to cool off Saturday, that should help keep fish alive. We should look like the class act Cat owners are. Parking is better at the Val Monte since they pulled the fence down at the back of the parking lot but with that many boats staying there itll be a premium. Ill see you all down there. Have a safe trip
