Home › Forums › Bass Cat Boats › SEBCOG ~ updated – Guntersville, September 17th &18th ~ See you there!
After discussion, it is resolved that this years event will carry on as originally planned. Dates of Sept 17 and 18th, 2016 on Lake Guntersville, AL. We will blast off and weigh in from the piers in front of the old Val Monte hotel site in Spring Creek, so you may us any ramp to launch (there are 3 in close proximity to there). Live well and safety check at that time at a designated spot on pier. Hampton Inn offered us a speacial rae for that time of year of $99/night. Must book by August 31 and ask for the code “BASSCAT”. Registration will be at the Hampton Inn from 4-6pm on Friday Sept 16, in wither the front lounge area or one of the meeting rooms. Also as of right now there is not a firm plan for group dinner, though I will continue to work on that for that Saturday early evening. Each day weigh in at 3pm, take off at safe daylight each morning. Payout is 1 in 7 boats, and remember that the more Cats we have the more help we get from BCB. Draw prizes will be done at the group dinner or at final weigh in depending on how that is decided. Prizes will be drawn by boater and coangler such as boat 1A (boater) or 1B (coangler). Registration will be on Friday Sept 16 with area/time to be finalized soon, at which time each team must be present to sign entry/rules/waiver. $150/team for both days including big bass, CASH ONLY, so that all funds available for payout. Boat number based upon registration, with reveresed boat numbers each day. (boat 1 on day one is last boat on day 2) Also, and this is TOTALLY VOLUNTARY- if you would like to make a donation to the Outdoor Friends Forever foundation then I will take that up and donate it to them in behalf of the SEBCOG family. I know theres a cpl details to iron out but we wanted to get yall back on the road as soon as possible, so with current info above you may do so. In regards to previous announcement, I apologize for the diversity it caused. I had nothing but best of intentions for the success of this event, and I dont want further arguments. Ive been dedicated to this event for 10 years, and I remain loyal to BCB. Thank you for your patience and hope to see you on Guntersville!Last edited by TexaBamaBass on July 24th, 2016, 1:35 am, edited 3 times in total.
Thanks Kelly. Personally I much rather this original format. See ya in September!Gary
Kelly, Thank you for your hard work. I am sorry you received backlash for changing it, but I assure you the right decision was made. This is the perfect opportunity to have the best SEBCOG yet. It is a great warm up for the OI coming to GVILLE 2017. It will be a great opportunity for guys to practice and learn the lake even if it is a different season. The fishing pressure here this year has been tremendous and weird water conditions have made the lake more of a challenge but still plenty of big bags being weighed in. The grass is behind this year but growing faster everyday will most likely be a great flipping and If tempatures cool for a few weeks at night the frog bite will be pretty good. The Snag Proof Tourney is on the 11th for the guys who come down the week they could also jump in that. I am glad it is back on GVILLE will be fun for everyone.
Wow! 10th Sebcog! Great job Kelly. Let us know if theres anything we can do to help.
how can I fish the tournament? whats the qualifications to enter? thanks in advance my cell number is 256-335-3730 if that would be easier to text me
Phillip, You just show up and sign up. They have a Facebook page and Kelly would love to have you!
I called Phillip earlier, told him to bring that early 90s model so we can check it out! Also..the Hampton Inn Guntersville has offered a rate of $99/night for us if anyone is interested. Ask for the “BassCat” rate if you call to book room. Sandy the GM and her staff have taken care of us in years past and look forward to doing so again!http://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotels … index.html256-582-4176Registration will also be at the Hampton from 4-6pm on Friday Sept 16, either in the front lounge area or one of the meeting rooms. As for the group dinner, since its hard to get an accurate number for catering, I think its best we not do catering and I can book a party room at either Wintzells or Top of the River for that Saturday early evening.
