I took the 8″ jackplate off in favor of the 3″ slidemaster on my P2 after speaking with Basscat for garage storage and have a few questions.

I’ve got a 26 fury for prop. Should that one still be ok?

What would be a good place to start for ptp placement?

It’s going to be a long winter waiting to check performance and tweaking.

2011 200 Pro XS by the way.

The 26 is larger than anyone inside BCB would recommend, though if it ran before it may run on this. We think you will have slippage to get it to run, and raising th plate will bring torque sooner on a short plate. The water is cleaner closer to the boat and thus it will slip less with the 3” plate.

What prop would you recommend? And ptp would be a good starting place?

Pitch x Slippage (.92) x RPM / gear ratio (1.75) / 63,360 (inches in mile) x 60 = potential speeds.

Run that equation a few times and you can reverse run it also to determine your efficiency.

Thought this link might help, BCB recommends using 8% slip and keep in mind the Fury tends to run about a pitch steeper than a advertised.

So any recommendations on where to start with prop to pad? This is my first bass boat and I’m still learning all the technicalities.

Since it’s your first bass boat, we like the top edge of the plates level, which should put you about 23.5” on height for most BCB models.

What should be 23.5″? Measuring from what to the ground or from ground up? Sorry
