First mistake, “He said it was an 82 mph rig.”,,,,,A dealer shouldnt say something like this unless he explains that all loads are different, driving skills, water temp, air temp, etc,,,,,Too many variables to predict a top speed.What you bought should run good, and is absolutely a reliable set up. Get someone who knows how to drive the boat to take you out and teach you the basics, then get some seat time in, that is the only fix for this, seat time.The rpms and prop pitch do not add up to the speed you mentioned(should be low- mid 70s). Only pay attention to the gps speed, not a speedometer, they are way off usually.If i can help gimme a shout, D.Chris Coupel should be on later, maybe he can hook you up !
