It takes quite awhile running at 5200rpms to get up on pad. Water sprays from the driver seat on back.Any recommendations on a different prop or adjusting engine mount hight. It is set about 1/2inch below hull. I raised it 1/2″ and it cavitated coming out of hole shot.help pleaseI have run 3 Caracals and they have all liked the motor mid height on the jack for holeshot but want to run with the motor almost all the way down. Mine were all with a SHO 225 and I have run both a Fury 25 pitch 3 blade and a Yamaha SHO Ventless 25 pitch 3 blade. Numbers were fairly similar but holeshot and top end was slightly better with the Yamaha. Boat would cap at 73-74 loaded with 2 guys. I also had 85 gallons of fuel capacity in all three! It sounds like you are trimming up too quickly and not allowing the hull to gain speed before trimming out. That hull should run 43 mph tucked in and every double bump of the trim should increase the speed. I usually let the boat gain its speed before bumping the trim again. If you are flying the nose high and the boat isnt on its pad, you have trimmed out too quickly and hull isnt packing the air under it, rather its shovelling it. Its a common problem I notice when I let non BCB owners jump in and drive my boats, they want to stomp the pedal and jump on the trim until it stops going up. Use the trim if you want more speed, lower it if you want to go slower. My 2 cents
