Have a 97 Pantera II ,Just Repowered with a 2005 yamaha 3.3L V-Max 200 HPDI ,have a 25 Trophy Plus with a blow out ring,have set the boat to 3″ above pad . Comes out of the hole great and good lift,have 25 psi water pressure trimmed all the way and am only turning 5200 rpms at 64 mph . They tell me I should be turning 5600 – 6000 rpms. anyone have a similar setup?

We would suggest you try a 25 M style Pro Series propeller from Yamaha or a 24 Fury on this application. Water pressure has never been a challenge on Yamaha engines and we think the RPM shows the engine is a bit weak also. Engine height we cant comment on as tis is not how we measure it and neither does this industry. The how to measure engine height is in the FAQ section. Hard to say on height, though we let steering torque dictate whether we are too high or low, and you want just a touch of pressure pulling you right.

Best prop for a Yamaha is a Yamaha , IMHO . — The 25m is an excellent suggestion , and as a fellow Yamaha guy , you should be turning near 6000 when at WOT . — Should be a mid 70s boat as far as speed .Last edited by BIGCATTER on August 21st, 2013, 1:02 pm, edited 1 time in total.
