heading to the lake for some r&r feb 5-8. hows the ole bend doing right now? water got to be up a little with all the rain.gonna try to find a hawg moving up on the full moon. hopefully the warm weather holds for a few more weeks.gonna be in the mid-lake area, mostly texas side. probably launch at alpine marina. have no clue what well be chunking, but hope to figure them out by tuesday! probably start in 8-10 feet with carolina rigs (i could drag a lizard all day) and rattletraps (think ill be the only one throwing red ? ha) . my bro in law has actually been doing well late with some topwater plugs..well be staying at his camp.any advise is welcome. as always, all we keep is photographs and memories (and maybe a few 14″ males for dinner friday nite!)

Fished Six Mile and Sandy creek last weekend–Friday caught a bunch of fish (small on wacky worm) watermellon purple sinko, caught two 4 1/5 and 5.3 on watermelon jig in 8 ft of h20. Saturday caught fish most of day on spinnerbait (white/chartuse), red rattletrap, and wacky worm most were short but had 10 weight fish, Sunday only two weigh fish on watermelon jig (2 lbs) hope this helps with what Toledo basser can tell you.Eddie

The lake just hit 163 today so its begining to look a lot like it did last year. Some of the grasses are in the water and Ive heard they are catching some from it. I havent been in a little over a week, but last time I went, we had a few of those mid 70s days. I hit just north of the bridge with a chrome/blue back red eye shad and had a good time. In just over 4 hours I caught 15 with the biggest being just over 3 pounds. Nothing outstanding but its going to do nothing but get better. Im working but after this weekend I will be off for 3 weeks and I plan to get out there more. Im a little late in updating but the lake inched above 164 as of this morning. I am in the process of making adjustments to my jackplate and took it out for a run yesterday afternoon. While I was out, I took a look in a pocket that I had seen on my map. The water was running 57-58 degrees in the mid-lake area. Were having some cool nights again which is keeping the water temps down but its going to get good soon. I looked back at last years lake level and its almost the same as when the Elites were here in May. Hopefully it will keep coming up and be in good shape for the rest of the spring. got delayed a bit, so were heading up this wed-sat. cooldown doesnt help, but well find a few somewhere. will come back for full moon in march, too. will keep you posted.
