Im having problems with my 1197. My left side works somewhat ok but my right side only shows maybe a 1/4 inch and the rest is just dark blue. Any ideas?

If transducer is not blocked by anything then probably bad ducer. I had the same thing on my 997. Humminbird sent me a new ducer free no questions asked!

what side is your SI transducer mounted ? If it is on the left then the lower unit of your outboard may be blocking the signal. Solution to this problem…..trim the lower unit up.Bob

Try running the unit one side at a time and see if the image works better.

I had the same thing happen to my 987 a few years ago. It was still under warranty so the good folks at humminbird sent me a new one. I had to send in the old one then they sent me the new one. Just sold my boat (got a pantera IV) and the SI was starting to fade on the left side again.
