I will be swapping my hydraulic JP for the manual one and would like to know what silicone BCB recommends for the job. Thanks.

3M 4200 seems to be the consensus for jackplate mounting.

There are dozens and since we dont see saltwater just get a good DOW 781 or similar.

What are you doing with your old jack plate, does it still work……..?

BJ TARR – Yes she works fine. Ive had no issues at all with it. I just dont use it. I cant think of a single time Ive used it operationally. I set it and forget it so I figure Id go w/ the manual. Once I pull her off Ill take some pics and put her on the garage sale page for sale.

New Guy here, i dont mean to hyjack the thread but is it ever a good idea to unbolt the the transom bolts and reseal with new silicone . Thanks in advance , Mike

Rafterm – yes, you cant swap out a jack plate any other way.

what I meant was should it be a regular maintenance requirement say like every 5 years.
