When I installed blinker trim a couple of weeks ago, I found that the allen heads holding the cover on were already partially rounded/stripped on the inside from someone prior to me (previous owner?) using the wrong size wrench. I was not able to get two of them out… so I ended up drilling them and using an “easy out” to remove them. When it came time to put the cap back on, I replaced the existing screws with mil-spec allen heads that had more meat/durability. Ill have no problem if Ihave to remove them again.I also needed a steering wheel puller to get the wheel off. Tensioned that sucker up real good and it still didnt come off. I started getting worried with how much force I was applying and starting to wonder what to do next when “BAM!!” the wheel loudly came off the spindle and into my lap. Almost had to clean my shorts out after that… first time Id ever pulled something like that and I wasnt expecting it to come off the way it did.Other than those two hurdles, installation of the blinker trim was simple.
